Erased

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-27

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Erased (“Erased”, “we”, “us”), the operator of erased.ink, including our website, web application, and REST API (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

2. Service description

Erased is a software-as-a-service product that removes and detects AI-generated watermarks in images. We offer both a web interface and a REST API. The Service calls third-party machine-learning compute to perform processing and stores inputs and outputs only temporarily.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular result will be achieved for a given image; watermark removal and detection are best-effort.

3. Accounts

Some features require an account. You may sign in with Google OAuth or with an email magic-link. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly at support@erased.ink of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account that results from your failure to keep your credentials secure.

4. Acceptable use

Erased is intended for legitimate purposes, including: backing up content you own, academic research, media forensics, and journalistic verification.

You may NOT use Erased to: bypass platform copyright protections, falsify content provenance, or impersonate the output of AI services in violation of their terms. You may not use the Service to process images you do not own or do not have explicit rights to process, nor for any unlawful, deceptive, or infringing purpose.

You may not abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits, quotas, or security of the Service, including by scraping, automated mass-processing outside the API terms, or evading anti-abuse controls.

5. Compliance responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service and of any processed images complies with all laws that apply to you, including laws on AI-content labeling and disclosure.

These include, without limitation, the EU AI Act (including the transparency obligations in Article 50), China's Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services and related deep-synthesis/labeling rules, and applicable U.S. state laws governing synthetic media and AI disclosure.

Removing a watermark does not relieve you of any obligation to label, disclose, or otherwise handle AI-generated content as required by law. You accept full responsibility for the legal consequences of your use of removed-watermark images.

6. Plans, billing and payments

We offer a Free plan, a Pro plan ($9/month), and Credit Packs. Plan features and limits are described on our pricing page and may change.

Billing is handled by Creem, acting as our Merchant of Record. By purchasing, you also agree to Creem's terms for the payment portion of the transaction. Erased never sees or stores your card details.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.

Credits purchased in Credit Packs expire 12 months after purchase. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

7. Refunds

Pro subscriptions are refundable within 7 days of the initial purchase. To request a refund, email support@erased.ink.

Credit Packs are non-refundable once purchased.

If an operation fails on our side, any credits charged for that operation are automatically refunded to your balance.

8. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the images you upload and to the results we return to you. We claim no ownership over your content.

Erased and all related software, branding, designs, and documentation are owned by us and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership in the Service to you.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result will be accurate or complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Erased and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

We are not liable for any misuse of the Service or for the legal consequences of how you use removed-watermark or detection results.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk or legal exposure for us.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. On account deletion we remove your account data and personal identifiers; payment records are retained as required by applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property and disclaimers) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
